We try to collect as little as possible, delete what we don't need, and keep the rest open.
What we collect
For an account: your name, address, and email. For a contribution: a location, the facts about the place (for example whether a toilet is free or paid), and a verification photo.
Verification photos are deleted
Photos are used only to confirm a place is real. They are stored in a private folder that is never publicly accessible, shown only to moderators, and deleted automatically once the submission is approved or rejected. We keep only a small audit record — who submitted, when, and the captured coordinates — never the image. The public map never displays contributor photos.
How moderation works
Every submission is reviewed by a human moderator before it appears on the map. We may reject duplicates, fakes, or unsafe content. Approved places show a "last verified" date and can be flagged by anyone as closed or inaccurate.
Open data
Approved place data is published under the ODbL open license and can be downloaded by anyone. We aim to contribute verified data back to OpenStreetMap following its community import guidelines.
Geographic scope
The platform currently supports locations inside Bangladesh only. Groups elsewhere can apply to start a verified community.
